I understand that these are not built to be put together, disassembled, and back together, but can it be done, even if not advised? Without looking terrible?

  That is a difficult question to answer because of the way these are assembled you must be extremely careful if you try to disassemble and then assemble yet again without damaging them. These are mainly used for a one-time use.

  Both sizes of our Premier Columns should be sturdy enough to hold a strand of lights. The columns weigh approximately 12-13 pounds each.

I was planning on purchasing 4 of your columns to use on a parade float are they strong enough for light wind. Are they cardboard or paper design. They will be outside for short duration on the parade float.
