We used this for my daughter's 4th birthday, a ballerina party. I'd read reviews saying the pinata didn't hold very much, but we had 7 children at the party and it held more than enough candy. The cardboard it's made of is very thick, so after the first round we ended up letting the kids swing at the pinata without blindfolds, and it still took a while to bust it open. Overall we were very pleased.

This is much larger than the measurements led me to believe. I almost ordered two because I thought it was small, it's not but it won't hold a lot of candy because it all goes in the toe.
BUT- it's adorable, very good quality construction. This is the second pinata that I have ordered from this site and I have been very pleased with both.

I like the pinata but i thought i was buying the pinata in the picture with the pretty big ribbon!! I also thought it was going to have more space for the candy!!!

We purchased four of the ballet slipper pinatas for some upcoming parties. The pinata was very pretty and held a good amount of candy. We had the first party last weekend and had a problem. The hanger loop ripped through the pinata. Instead of a shower of candy when the trap door ribbon was pulled, the whole pinata crashed to the floor. I think the same thing would have happened even if we used it in the traditional way. Raising and lowering the pinata as the kids swing at it with a stick would put the same type of pressure on the hanger loop. We figured out a way to reinforce it, after the fact, so the next 3 should be OK.

I purchased this for my daughter's ballerina themed birthday party. I was disappointed that it did not look as good as the picture shown. It arrived with crepe paper as ribbon that did not even look like it was tied in a bow because the paper hung flat. It was not real ribbon as shown. Also, I was a little disappointed that it was not shaped as much like a ballet slipper as it appeared. It was very square. On the up side, it was a bright color of pink. In case you were wondering, the filler hole is on top of the shoe above the toes.
