The lights worked well right out of the box. The batteries do not last very long at first, but do any batteries last that long in items that will be left on often? They do have almost an orange glow to them, and flicker like a real candle.

I love the realistic flicker of these candles. The flicker effect is not only at the tip of the candle,but goes down to the base. I have purchased other flickering tealights and these are by far the best. I plan on using these at my daughters Sweet 16 Mardi Gras party around the centerpieces and also in two mardi gras trees that will be at the entrance.
