I had purchased fan type decorations in the past and assumed they may need additional material to keep them fanned out and I was right. Unfortunately each snowflake needed scotch tape to hold it shut to maintain its snowflake shape. The plastic hanging cord was easy to use after tieing a slip knot at the end.
