First Lady Michelle Obama Goes Hip Hop Healthy Headlining the Party News

Hi!  I’m Mary Collins, and this is your Shindigz News Blast.

Do you have August 25th marked on your calendar?  That Sunday is the night the MTV music awards will air. Get your ShindigZ Hollywood party planned now bccause the show promises packed with celebrities and great performances. Battling for best song are Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke and now it’s announced the two will also be performing together.  Also performing, Katy Perry, who will sing her new song, Roar.

First Lady Michelle Obama is to release a hip-hop album focused on eating healthy and exercising. The 19-track collection features singers like Jordin Sparks, Ashanti and DMC.

And a follow up on a story we talked about last week with Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey is now issuing an apology for the media frenzy that’s emerged after she talked about her recent trip to Switzerland. You might remember, Winfrey was in Switzerland recently for Tina Turners wedding when she went out shopping be herself one day and went into an expensive purse shop.  When she asked to see a $38 thousand dollar purse, the clerk told her she couldn’t afford the bag and denied her the chance to look at it. The disgruntled Oprah came back to the states and mentioned it but now is apologizing that the story has blown out of control.

A lot of celebrities celebrating birthdays today:

Steve Martin-68

Magic Johnson-54

Tim Tebow-26

Halle Berry-47

Mila Kunis-30
