Hi, I’m Mary Collins with your Thursday Shindigz Party News Blast!
Did you watch the CMT Music Awards last night in Nashville? Carrie Underwood took home the top prize winning the Video of the Year! The award makes the singer the top winner in the show’s 12-year history.
Speaking of winners we now know who won the $590 million Poweball jackpot. 84 year old Gloria Mackenzie, who until now has lived in a small one bedroom house. And here’s the coolest part of her story, she released a statement revealing that another woman “was kind enough” to allow her to cut in line when she purchased the winning ticket.
That woman, Mindy Crandell, 34, is not upset that her charitable gesture likely cost her an enormous fortune and says “things are meant to be for a reason.” Crandell, of Zephyrhills, Fla., was in line to purchase lottery tickets in Publix while tending to one of her two daughters when Mackenzie stepped in front of her.
Tiger Woods is once again the World’s Highest-Paid Athlete, according to Forbes.com.
He’s pulled in over $78 million over the past year in prize money, endorsements, and appearance fees. Tennis star Roger Federer was second.
While we’re on sports…game one of the NBA finals is tonight between the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat.
