We’ve gathered quick and easy Halloween party recipes that cover all major Halloween food categories: savory, spicy, spooky and sweet!
For Kids: Mummy Dogs
This recipe, adapted from one we found at Holidays Central, is a humorous cousin to pigs-in-a-blanket. Kids might help assemble them, too! Serve them up on Boo Crew or other cheerful Halloween themed tableware, and provide drinks in one of our chillin’ Witch Cauldron inflatable coolers.
What you need: An 8-ounce can of crescent roll dough, 10 hot dogs, ketchup and mustard.
What to do: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Unroll the dough into its four predefined rectangles and seal perforations. Cut each rectangle into 10 strips. Wrap each dog with four strips Ace bandage style, only messier. Leave gaps in the “bandages” near one end of each dog as a “face.” Bake about 15 minutes until they are golden brown and the dogs heated through. When cooled a little, place dots of mustard on each “face” as eyes. Serve with mustard and ketchup.
For Grownups: Bleeding Heart Brie
Despite the name, this twist on the classic Brie en croute is visually appealing, and you’ll love how Taste of Home found a simple yet clever way to play sweetness against the salty Brie.
What you need: An 8-ounce can of crescent roll dough, an 8-ounce round of Brie cheese, 1/3 cup cherry preserves, a lightly beaten egg, and assorted crackers for serving.
What to Do: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a baking sheet. Divide the dough into two squares and seal the perforations. Cut the corners off the squares to get two circles, setting aside the scraps for something else.
Assemble by placing one circle on the baking sheet, centering the Brie on it and topping the cheese with the preserves. Bring the edges of the dough up and around the sides of the cheese. Cover with the remaining dough circle and press to seal the edges.
Brush the pastry all over with the egg and bake for 20-30 minutes until nicely browned. Cool for five minutes before serving.
You’ll love how it looks, so present this party food prominently on an appetizer table gussied up ghoulishly with one of our Halloween centerpieces.
For Everyone: Bat Wings and Swamp Dip
Chicken wings become bat wings just because we say so. Behold the power of Halloween!
We like that these wings are flavorful and spicy without a lot of heat, so most party-goers can enjoy them.
What you need: Four pounds of chicken wings, 2 minced garlic cloves, ½ cup soy sauce, 1 teaspoon 5-spice powder, ½ teaspoon ground ginger, and ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper (optional). For the dip, mix a pint of sour cream with a couple tablespoons of stone ground mustard.
What to do: Let Evette Rios show you the ropes on the wings!
