Greet Groovy Guests with Retro Invitations

Polka-Dot-Table-DecorationsPet rocks, mood rings, VW Bugs, tube tops, wedgies (AKA platform shoes) . . . the 60’s and 70’s were funkadelic groovin’ times! Whether you survived them the first time around, or are just trying to experience a little of the magic, look no further! With the return of all things retro, this theme party is increasingly popular.

Retro Invitation Slogans –  Try using these words on your retro invitations:

  • Feelin’ Groovy
  • Shake Your Groove Thing
  • We’re Stayin’ Alive to Celebrate
  • Disco Nights
  • Flower Power
  • Retro Flashback
  • Boogie Fever is Spreading
  • Look Who’s All Smiles Today

A retro theme party can be used for an adult birthday party, a girl’s birthday party (perfect for ages 8 through late teens), a retirement party, or even for a New Year’s Eve celebration. Since the original retro era, the line between what belonged to the hippies of the 60’s has become blurred with the disco era of the later 70’s. That’s okay! Pick your favorites from either, and throw the best party ever.

Retro Invitations:

Set the mood for your event with retro invitations that will give your guests a sneak preview of your groovy plans, and ensure that you’ll have a funky full house!

Use a Tie Dye Invitations. All you have to do is fill in the details!

As an alternative, consider attaching a computer-generated or handwritten tag with all the details to a Smiley Face Balloon (hand-delivered) or a pair of hippie style sunglasses. Use your imagination! Use curling ribbon to attach.

If you are sending out traditional paper or imprinted invites, consider sprinkling some retro confetti mix inside.

In your retro invitation, remember to specify the attire you would like your guests to arrive in. This is a great party to have guests dress up for! Halter-tops, tube tops, hip-hugging bell-bottoms, fringed suede vests, go-go boots, anything tie-dyed, anything crocheted, spandex, a-line mini skirts…you name it! Add some love beads, part your hair down the middle and brush it straight, or don an Afro Wig, put on your platform shoes, and you’re ready to disco.
