ShindigZ Chief Executive Shep Moyle took five questions from Fort Wayne’s Journal Gazette newspaper. The interview, which ran Sunday covered a range from Halloween to the tough economic times.
Regarding the current economic crisis, Moyle pointed out that since ShindigZ has been in business for over 80 years, the company has already seen some economic slowdowns, but with each recession sales have increased. “From our research, we have found that customers need to get away from the worries and troubles of the economy and markets and tend to throw more parties to help themselves escape their worries for a moment in an inexpensive way and to gather more with friends and family versus taking long trips or vacations,” Moyle said. ShindigZ has tips and products for themed parties such as a Bale-Out Hoe Down Party just for times like these.
Moyle also discussed how the party supply company keeps things festive around the office for holidays. For Halloween this year the company is having a company wide costume contest with the theme “at the movies” and ShindigZ employees will be visiting local retirement communities to hand out some picture frames to residents and a local elementary school to distribute treats to students.
For Thanksgiving the company is having an annual Turkey Bowl. “The winner of the tournament wins a turkey for thanksgiving (not the one we have been bowling with!). Bowl early before one of the wings come off.!” Moyle said.
As Christmas rolls around, ShindigZ will be adopting les fortunate local families to collect gifts for them so they don’t miss out on Christmas fun.
At ShindigZ we believe life should be more fun and that includes spreading party fun around the office and the community!
