We wanted to get married at our church, but our reception hall is not that nice. So I want to drape the ceiling and bring it down some. After we figured out how to hang it the rest was easy. We used wire to hold up the gossamer. We hung icicle lights then draped with brown gossamer. The reception hall look totally different. We loved it. Everyone is still talking about it. The only problem is that the gossamer is very see through.

For the pictures below we turned on the overhead lights.

We use the gossamer as a backdrop for other decorations and to cover unsightly walls and doors close to the entrance of the ballroom used for our performances.

The gossamer adds color, is easy to work with and comparatively inexpensive--which is critical to our budget. Available in a wide variety of colors.

Would like a little more opaqueness. Must double the layers or gather excessively to prevent see through to wall behind.

With many recommendations, I chose gossamer as the material to use for our wedding reception. I didn't know exactly what I was getting and was a little surprised that it was not completely cloth-like. Yet, it does drape well and should look great when hung up in a high ceiling with minimal light. It's also super light weight which should be great for hanging.

This is a versatile fabric that can be used to make decor of all sorts for parties. We used it for curtains, covering tables, sashes on chairs, backdrops, etc. Our theme was black and white formal. It was beautiful with the twinkle lights under it. You can cut it to fit what you want, double it to get a darker shade. I do think it's a little on the pricey side though. However, the limits for using it as decor are only in your mind. I wish I was more schooled in decorating with it!

I used this to cover some unattractive walls at a local lodge. It was a little more sheer than I expected so we could still see a lot of things we were trying to cover up but it got the job done . 100 yards is a lot of material so we still have a little less than half the roll for future parties or gatherings.

We used three colors of the 18"wide to redefine the space we were using. It had very high ceilings and we wanted to bring it lower. We ran thirty pound deep fishing line accross the room at 9 feet and then draped the gossmer the length of the room. We also strung twinkle lights along the line. It brought the ceiling down (the caterer was shocked when we tore down and she realized there were 24 foot ceilings. I would do 12 foot next time.

Gossamer also "floated around base of tree amongst the gifts and along base of walls to cover unsightly cords. Fluffed up gossamer graced top of upright piano with candle and lighted greenery and also covered the backside of piano. (note: to cover brick walls, large wooden frames were leaned against walls and covered with white butcher paper. The gossamer was then layered over the paper, gathered at the top edge and topped with lighted greenery)

I used this for something the average person wouldn't think of, I used this material to make a pond for my yard as part of my Christmas scene that I do every year. I normally used just a blue rope light to outline the pond and then added chaser lights of clear and blue for the water. I just thought that adding a material on the top of the lights would just make it so much better, but I had to get something that wouldn't kill my lawn. I had thought about netting first but after talking to a wonderful person on the phone from the company I decided to go with the gossamar material. I could get it in a blue color, it was thin enough where the lights would shine through, allow for the sun and rain to norish my lawn, but the most important part was that its flame retardent. I have had so many compliments on my pond this year I know I made the right decision. It looks great. It was easy to put down and when the wind blows it actually looks like water ripples. I couldn't be more happy with the final look.
